Biography

Karen Bretz handles administrative hearing and professional licensing cases at Grayson & Grayson. She has extensive experienced in administrative law matters for private and public clients at the state and local levels.

Before joining Grayson & Grayson, Karen worked in Staff Counsel’s Office for the Missouri Public Service Commission for nearly five years. Karen was born and raised in the St. Louis Metro East and received her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She graduated from law school at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where she was a member of the law review. After graduation from law school, Karen spent 23 years in Alaska, last working at an electric utility.

Her reported opinions include Anchorage Citizens for Taxi Reform v. Municipality of Anchorage, 151 P.3d 418 (Alaska 2006).
